The Season of the Pueblo's Glow

There’s nothing quite like strolling down candle lit footpaths during a Taos holiday.

Celebrating its 30th year in Taos Plaza, the Yuletide Caroling and Tree Lighting gathers the Taos community and Mayor Dan Barrone for this traditional start to the holiday season.

December 3rd

Paper lanterns and lashing bonfires illuminate the historic Ledoux Street. This is an idyllic evening, when families and old friends of every background tell stories under a canopy of stars.

December 10th

A week later Bent Street will be warming up, too. Dancers in Aztec costume jump by the glow of farolitos, while hot regional food is served. Stop into John Dunn Shops for fresh baking holiday cookies.

December 24th @ 6:00 pm

Christmas Eve in Taos is a spectacle like unlike any other! Skiers holding colorful flares race down slopes in the dark of night, their long trails of color streaming across the mountains. This is an unusual event not to be missed!
