Explore Taos

Through the years, the Hotel Martin was the hub of Taos' social, intellectual and artistic activity. Later owners renamed it the Taos Inn, added the popular neon thunderbird sign (Taos' oldest) and the carved reception desk. In 1982, the Inn was placed on the National and State Registers of Historic Places.

  • “Always sublime”

We have been staying here for many years, and always enjoy the room, the Adobe bar, and Doc Martin's restaurant. Our custom is to have drinks and nachos in the bar. All the rooms are a little different, and all are well decorated as appropriate for the area.

  • “Great Historic property in Taos”

We always love staying at the Taos Inn. Remember it is not a 5 star luxury resort...but it is a 5 star Historic property in downtown Taos, NM! Great property and location! Best sentence I can say is...we will stay here again!

  • “Great place to stay and experience Taos”

We really enjoyed our stay. The service was excellent. The rooms were comfortable and bathrooms have been updated. The restaurant was wonderful with a varied menu and the bar a great place to relax and/or have fun. On Friday evening, the Great Swing Theory provided us with an evening of good music and entertainment. The ambience is representative of Taos and the food and drinks good. Check out the breakfast menu. We will be back!

  • “Room 107”

We stayed in Room 107, which is in the original building and has a fireplace. The room is cozy and has a wonderful northern New Mexico Feel. The fire was fantastic and great for a romantic weekend. Loved every minute of it.

  • “Really Cool!”

We had a lot of fun here! There is live music in the bar every night. We could hear in our room, which we loved. It was fun to hear the music start and walk out of our room and have drinks and food at the bar. They also use real keys for the room. We would definitely go back.
