This April, It’s all About the Arts

Opera, chamber music, fabulous films, and a powerful art exhibit are all part of Taos’ cultural offerings this month. First up on April 14th is Verdi’s “Luisa Miller” at the Taos Center for the Art’s presentation of The Met: Live in HD. A seldom-performed opera, Verdi’s tragic tale of paternal love is a rare treat. On April 15th, the Taos Chamber Music Group presents “Play It Forward.” An amazing display of youthful genius is the star of this concert, featuring seventeen-year-old violinist Phoenix Avalon in works by Brahms, Astor Piazzolla, and Alexey Kurbatov. Next, don’t miss the showing of “Oh Lucy! Movies on the TCA Big Screen” on April 18; offering us a film that depicts an array of human emotions and a candid look into the bonds we make. Culled from the museum’s collections, these works represent seldom-seen works by women via paint, glass, stone, and on film. For more information, click here.
