From Snowboarding and Fundraisers to Book Launches: March Events in Taos

This month in Taos features three fabulous and fun events on the slopes and on the literary scene. First, join us for the 22nd Annual Ben Myers Ridge-A-Thon at Taos Ski Valley on March 16-17. This yearly fundraiser honors local extreme skier Ben Myers, who succumbed to cancer at the age of 26. The event is now a major draw for other snowboarders and skiers who gather pledges while going up and down the runs. The pledges support the Emergency Medicines Fund at the Taos Community Foundation. Lastly, be sure to catch local author Cherie Burns on March 21 as she launches her latest book, “Diving for Starfish.” Ms. Burns will give a reading at the Harwood Museum. Other books by the author include “Searching for Beauty—The Life of Millicent Rogers,” “The Great Hurricane: 1938,” and “Stepmotherhood—How to Survive Without Feeling Frustrated, Left Out or Wicked.” For details, call (575) 758-9826 or click here.
