Sweet! Bean to Bar Chocolate and Animated Oscar Noms
Accident-prone frogs and toads gobble caviar and macaroons; the wolf from “Little Red Riding Hood” bares his soul and spills the beans on beanstalk-climber Jack, Cinderella, and Snow White.
Father-son bonding, schoolyard bullying, and basketball: these are the themes of the Animated Oscar Shorts scheduled to be shown at the Arthur Bell Auditorium at the Harwood Museum of Art. Animation lovers won’t want to miss Saturday, February 24, and try to predict the winners! The selections include: “Dear Basketball,” featuring Kobe Bryant, the French short “Garden Party,” Pixar’s “Lou,” “Negative Space,” and “Revolting Rhymes,” an English short based on Roald Dahl’s own rhymes. After the screening, follow your nose to the origin of the enticing aroma of freshly-roasted cacao beans, and you’ll find Chokola, where the ethical sourcing of ingredients and the commitment to the bean-to-bar movement is strongly in evidence at this small-batch and organically crafted bespoke chocolate maker just off the plaza in Taos.
