Taos Pride, Wine, and Dog Days

This month, Taos offers its visitors and guests an astounding array of events, and we suggest these three: First, join us August 9-11 at Kit Carson Park for Taos Pride.

This event was begun by Robert Quintana to honor the lives and accomplishments of lesbians, gays, bisexuals, and transgender folks, as well as creating a space for respect, play, sharing, celebration, and remembrance. Taos Pride will feature parties, parades, performances, and a film festival.

Next, head over the KTAO Solar Center Pavilion on August 11 for the 9th Annual Dog Days of Summer Concert. This event will not only feature cutting-edge entertainers and music but is also a fundraiser for Taos’ Stray Hearts Animal Shelter. Among the performers will be The Secret Sisters, who have toured with such musicians as Paul Simon, Bob Dylan, and Willie Nelson. Lastly, be sure to save the dates of August 17-19 for the 2nd Annual Wine Festival at Taos Ski Valley. Enjoy some fabulous wine, along with good food, fun, and live music.
