This Valentine’s Day, make your special someone feel extra special, with a few suggestions for romantic things to do right here. First, head out to the Overlook for a brilliantly-colored sunset - you’ll find pullout stops with gorgeous views. When you get to the top, you’ll be rewarded with a spectacular sight of the Rio Grande Gorge Bridge. Nearby trails provide excellent walking, biking, or hiking opportunities.
Centrally-located Kit Carson Park offers a lovely grassy picnic area with a mountain view, along with trails for walking and jogging. For some of the most breathtaking views, opt for a day trip and drive the historic “High Road to Taos.” This 56-mile journey between Taos and Santa Fe leads you through the Sangre de Cristo Mountains and offers some interesting historic landmarks. If you prefer something less active, stroll around Taos’ Historic District and Taos Plaza, where you can browse the many shops and galleries hand in hand, at your leisure.
